Umesh , DK star as IND wallopAUS

Dhoni: "We bowled really well . Again the start with the bat wasn ' t great . The partnership between me and Karthik was crucial. The wicket was two - pace, and that is why the fast bowlers were successful on this surface. Overall it is a good show by the team . Umesh is a key bowler for us . He gives Ishant a bit of cushion by containing the runs . I just wanted to get into the best position if the side is in trouble . We need to put pressure on the fielders with good running between the wickets as well . Dinesh ran really well and he has earned his place with good performances . We will have to see who misses out. Dinesh will certainly play against South Africa . I would love to have him bat at the top of the order . But we will have to sit and think deep about that ."

MSD receives ODI CHAMPIONS SHIELD

India captain Mahendra Singh
Dhoni on Monday received the prestigious ICC ODI Championship Shield and a cheque of $175,000 for leading his side to the top of the ICC ODI Championship table on the annual April 1 cut-off date.
This is the first time since the current
ranking system was introduced in 2002 that India finished as the No. 1 ranked one-day international (ODI) side. David Morgan, former president of the International Cricket Council (ICC), presented the Shield to Dhoni, who also collected the cheque, after India's training session at the Cardiff Wales Stadium.
"I am very proud of this huge achievement,
as being No. 1 is a reward for all of us but hopefully it is just the beginning. Being No. 1 in the world brings with it a certain respect for the game itself and for the way in which we play the game and conduct ourselves on the field," said Dhoni.

VK and DK leads

http://cricketmanza.blogspot.com/2013/06/vk-and-dk-leads.html Done India 337 for 5 (Kohli 144, Karthik 106*) beat Sri Lanka 333 for 3 (Dilshan 84, Kusal Perera 82) by five wickets.
If it was a stand of 186 in 140 balls between Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik that provided most obvious cause for Indian joy, as it helped them fight back in a match that had appeared to be sliding inexorably towards Sri Lanka, perhaps it was more subtle factors that will be of long-term relevance. Even if India had lost this game, they might have been justified in leaving Edgbaston in good spirits, for this match did provide hints that some of the pre-conceptions about this tournament may be misplaced.
